Here she was again, the middle of the forest with thick fog surrounding her petite frame, shielding her from the sun's rays; but perhaps it was nightfall? Miyuki didn't know, she had been there too long to keep track of time. This time, however, her rapid steps that pushed her forward in order to snatch a fleeing bug from the sky were not present. In fact, there were no sounds at all.
The little girl sat at the base of a large tree, her face and its expression hidden in the shadow cast down on her. A steel blue butterfly fluttered about her head in an almost teasing manner, yet she paid it no mind, not even as it landed upon her tiny nose, causing a sneeze to emit from within her chest. Why would this happy child be sitting in a way that resembled lost hope? What made her care not for what happened around her, even though chasing bugs was once what made her feel free?
None of it matter, at least not to her. Miyuki was more concerned about when she should bother going home; though did she really have one now? She didn't think so. Finally, a soft sigh came from her slightly parted lips, and a hand reached to brush the bangs from her bright pink eyes, however that was the extent of her movement while she listened to the sounds of the silent forest.

He had felt a presence flowing about the land that had belonged to him--in some way-shape-or-form--and had glanced in a direction that had been unknown to him. He moved to speak to the beast that had been his friend, but had decided against doing so in the long run. Without much thinking, he slowly begun to walk in the direction of the chakra he had felt, though it had been small compared to his own; he slowly begun to move through the thick fog that had surrounded the land and brushed against his cloak, which helped to keep his frame hidden from the sights of those who so happened to cross his path.
His footsteps were silent as he moved about; as was his person, save for the slow movement of his cloak, which rustled within the movement of the breeze that danced through the fog and against his person and cloak. His nose took in the many scents that he could capture, but the one that stood out the most was the small of the many trees that danced about him in silence. He even moved his left hand forward so that he could brush the tips of his fingers against the bark of the tree. The feeling made his eyes close slowly and he released a soft sigh that withered away through the air until it had been nothing but a faint memory of the one who lead the village.
He lifted a brow and thought about why he had continued walking this far, and alone, only to come to a realization that he had been missing his parents, even though they had died long ago. Still, he had nothing more to live for...He had looked for something to fill the emptiness that had built within his body and bones; however, he knew deep down that he didn't need something to fill the void, for he had reasons to continue on with fighting. He was a Kage...He was a child born with a unique ability, though he had not mastered them. He was one who had his own skill and had yet to show them to those outside of his village. As far as he knew, none had known him, save for the child that had run off in the past...
What was her name again? Didn't she say something along the lines of Maya...Miyk...? No...That wasn't it...Ah...He glanced around and spotted a bug fluttering before his face...It's light pierced the very fog that had danced about it, and he remembered the name being Miyuki. Remembering the name had triggered the very feeling he had when he was a young male, though he was still young in all of his right, being only 22 in age. Akio shook his head and then pushed the thought away, for he had to keep moving in order to figure what it was that had been moving about around here.
Within a few more minutes, Akio had arrived at the location and had spotted the little girl sitting at the base of one of the largest trees this forest had to offer. However, he did not spot her emotion, but he did hear the sneeze that had seemed to originate from the girl's chest. A single brow--the left to be exact--had risen up into a slight arch, and he would hold the position of the arch for more than a second’s heartbeat. Soon enough, Akio cleared his throat, and the sound had rippled through the very mist around them. He did not speak, for he left that option to the girl, and, should she look in his direction, she would see the figure standing as a shadow; for the mist was wrapped around him, save for the purplish color of his eyes, which held their normal ripple-like pattern.

A sound caught the young girl's attenion, causing her thoughts to waver from their paths and her eyes to slowly drift to where she heard it come from. Of course, once there her pupils saw hardly anything except for the blurred outline of a body. Her chin rose from her knees and she silently studied, what she believed to be, a person, only opening her mouth a minute or so later. Her pale lips parted hesitantly for words to come out, slightly shaking, but this was the only real indication she was afraid, "Who's there?"
Clop... Clop... Miyuki slowly rose to her feet, again brushing the hair from her eyes to try and focus on the hidden figure, but she saw nothing more and frowned in discontent.

Akio watched as she moved to her feet and simply leaned his hand over towards the other tree that had been close to him. He slowly lowered his brow from its arch, only to have shaken his head. Within a few more moments, his voice rippled out through the air, as he said, "You've forgotten The Man of the Dark?" His head slowly moved from left to right in a small shake and his shoulders rolled forward, which caused his cloak to rustle faintly because of the motion. After a moment, he opened his eyes and allowed them to settle onto the girl that had moved with such loud feet, for she disturbed the much every time she moved. Silently, he shifted his feet along the ground and soon pressed his shoulder against the bark of the tree. Though he had been prepared for the worst, he doubted this girl had posed a threat to him, even if she had been-somehow-apart of some group that had been out to kill him for some unknown reason.

A smile, or more so a grin, broke through the sullen features of the little girl at the man's speech, herself giggling in response before she spoke, "I wouldn't forget you, Mister.", she seemed to reassure him of this fact. Miyuki took a few steps out of the shadow from the tall tree, but she was still hidden somewhat by the dense fog; her eyes, though, shone quite brightly in the dim light, indicating her position. If one could somehow see, they would notice she had bags beneath her normally bouncing hues of pink. She felt that she had not slept in so long- how her legs were even still able to hold her up was remarkable-, as she had been out here for almost two days time now, though she didn't know it.
"Why are you out here, Mister?", she inquired, all of the previous fear she held for the unknown before her having now melted away into comfort. She didn't know him, not really, but he provided a sense of serenity nevertheless, and yet she didn't know why. In fact, the only thing she did know was that he had a funny nickname and liked the dark. The girl rocked gently back and forth on her heels, her arms placed behind her; she seemed content now despite prior troubles, or maybe it was a ruse, but who knew? She did, and she didn't want him to know- no one should know, in her mind that was how it was supposed to be.

He slowly shook his head and replied, "Well, I'm allowing thoughts of my past to be collected." He paused and moved to drag his left hand against the bark of a random tree. His head shook and he said, "It's rather calm here...Allows me to find myself in case I'm ever lost. There's often no one around here, so I don't have to worry about keeping myself as hidden as I would in other places." He paused and looked down towards the girl's known position. "What are you doing out here? I told you before that this was no safe place."

Collecting his thoughts of the past? Well, that sounded rather strange. As a curious mind, Miyuki couldn't help wonder what his past was like, but she knew that she was more than likely never going to find out. Her head slightly tilted, she listened as he further spoke, agreeing in the form of a nod after having straightened her head to his mention of how calm it was out here.
There it was. That was the question she had been expecting from the moment she realized it was him, and, as such, had already formed a response. It seemed she was ahead of her time in intelligence. "It's safer here.", the little girl stated in a soft voice. For her it really was a place that was out of harm's way.

Akio had been watching the child to the best of his granted ability. His hand, which gripped the tree, had long since fallen down to his side, where he slowly curled it against the fabric of his baggy pants. To her reply, he countered, "It is not. I'm sure that, if I'm here, there are things here that might be much stronger than I am. Do you think you can take me on?" His eyes had locked onto the frame of the child, or at least what he could see of her.
His footing pressed against the mush, causing the water to flow around his feet in a way that would make them sink into the fabric that had wrapped around his feet, but there were no holes, so none of the mushy water could get in. Oh, haha, Akio, you clever male you! Chalk one up for him and zero up for the mushy water! Blinking, he soon focused his thoughts back onto the girl, having no idea why they had wandered away in the first place...
He slowly pressed his hidden lips against one another and narrowed his eyes onto her while he sucked in a deep breath of the air that seemed stale...or...saddened, this day. Perhaps someone's mood had been affecting it? He wrinkled his nose and shook his head while he said, in a low tone, "Still think it will be better than my in home?"

Miyuki flinched to his denial of the statement she had made. It was safer, it really was. Out here nothing bothered her, it was quiet and peaceful... The small girl's foot lightly scraped at the loose dirt upon the ground, her head having bowed as if she were being scolded while she mumbled a reply, "No.." Her left eye turned to peer at his dark figure from within its confines of white hair, but fell again to the earth, realizing she could not see his expression; that was if he even had one to begin with.
To his next question she wasted no time answering, "Your home?", she asked curiously, bringing up her hanging head to sneak another look at him. Even his house sounded better than going home right now.

Akio brought his shoulders up in a slight shrug and he said, "That is what I said." He truly found no reason to repeat himself after stating the question for a second time, since they've met. Of course, he still didn't know this girl, but he could always found out who she was, if that really interested him...But, that would come with a price, if he had intended to do it the way he originally thought about going at it.
Soon enough, he pushed his thoughts away and simply leaned towards the left, which would allow his right shoulder the chance to meet the bark of the tree closest to his left side. His eyes slowly fell closed and he sucked in another deep breath of air. Some people, if they noticed his closed eyes, would probably consider him to be at his weakest of movements, but, they were truly wrong. Akio had never fully let his guard down, not when he was isolated, let alone when he was in the presence of another, no matter how old or young. Why?
The male's actions were never to paranoia, but to the fact that none could truly be trusted. There had always been some form of corruption, should it originate from the offer of money, power, or freedom. Either way, he, The Man of the Dark, had always been ready...That would probably why he stood out of the alliance...That would probably why he remained neutral, never directly faithful to a single side, who had possibly forgotten about the male's existence.

Miyuki was, more often than not, wary, but she cared not at this point in time for her own safety. Call it foolish, perhaps stupid, yet still she trusted this man. After all, she had chosen to befriend him, so why not put faith in him? Miyuki took a breath before nodding firmly, "Your house would be safer.", the child stated with no hesitation, and yet plenty of thought went into such an answer.
The dangers of going into what was basically a stranger's home were innumerable, and Miyuki knew this, however she put her trust into this "Man of the Dark". The girl moved forward until she would be a few feet from the man now, her head tilted to the side a bit and her former stance shifting to something else. Her hands were now placed on her tiny hips with her feet spread equally apart, and she spoke with a light smile coming to her face, should anyone see it anyway, "Do you trust me, Mister?"

Akio allowed his eyes to slowly peel open, which would reveal the male's purplish colored orbs and their swirls. He slowly dipped his head down into a polite nod towards her statement. It happened to be true, that his home was a lot safer than this here place; perhaps it was a lot safer than all the other lands. Why? It seemed that his land had not taken on many visitors for a while, well, at least since he had been the Kage of his land.
After a few moments, the girl's question moved through his ears and he locked his gaze onto her before he moved his head up and stared out into the distance, as if something had been staring at him, but, in truth, nothing was there...Nothing but trees, fog, and darkness. Lightly shrugging his shoulders, he replied, "There is a possible chance, but not too many things are definite these days."
After a few seconds, he slowly pressed the heel of his right foot into the mush while he dug the toes of his left foot into the mush as well. Soon after, his body spun around in a slow half-circle and he begun to make his way in the direction of his village, which had, oddly, been some miles off. Why did he travel so far away from his village, and alone? Well, simply because he had faith in himself; his abilities, and then there was the faith he had within those that were of his village, those who he had long since grown up with, though most had not seen his physical appearance due to him being taught away from the normal Academy Students, not that it mattered. Akio didn't begin to walk, as of yet, but, instead stood in his place, almost as if he had been waiting for the child to begin following him.

The child smiled a little wider at his response, giggling a bit and nodded; she seemed to like that answer, taking it as a 'yes'. As the man turned, her footsteps could again be heard throughout the forest Clop... Clop... Clop. Miyuki would stop and go as he does as if an obedient dog.

Akio would soon come to hear the sound of the child moving behind him and shook his head. He couldn't take all of the noise, which could signal his presence to those around him, if someone had so happen to have come within his area. Either way, he assumed he could deal with the situation, if it had come down to it. Pushing away yet another thought, Akio begun to move forward with silent steps that carried him as if he was someone important. Each of his steps seemed measured and on a beat of its own pattern. This man had trained all of his life to be one of the best shinobi that he could be within his lifetime and the next, not that he had anything to prove to anyone other than himself. After a few moments, he moved to say something, but decided against it, having nothing important to say.

The little girl trailed silently behind the tall, dark figure she had come to enjoy the company of. It was odd that someone she hardly knew brought her solace in her life, when he probably had his own problems to deal with. It wasn't even that he knew her issues and solved them, just that his pressence brought a serene feeling. Miyuki giggled to herself at the thought, as odd as it was, and shook her head to put it away. After some time, the loud footsteps of the child seemed to go quiet except for the occassional noise made when her foot returned to the ground. Was she purposefully loud or unintentionally? Not that it mattered, she was silent now.

Akio slowly moved through the land with his left hand tucked within the base of his cloak. His right hand, of course, had been curled around the very spine of the weapon that he had been known, by his people, to carry. This weapon, though it would not be used in battle by Akio, would be known as Khakkhara, which was one of the relics he made sure to keep close to himself and out of the hand of others.
He made sure to keep listen on his surrounds as they moved, for now, he didn't just have to keep himself alive, but also the girl that had been traveling with him, as of now, though he did not know exactly where she had come form or what she had done. Perhaps there was a reason she had been out here in the fog, besides it being safer...Wait...If she had done something, and she had been hiding, the fog was one of the best places to do it, as the fog could be used for the "Silent Killing."
Akio slowly chuckled to himself at this thought, the sound having been less than auditable, though he wouldn't have cared if the girl had heard it or not, for he wouldn't tell her anything about his thoughts. Why? His thoughts were, of course, of his own...Well, with the acceptation of the beast that dwelled deep within his being. Speaking of said creature, should he contact his old friend? No, probably not at this exact moment...His focus needed to be on other things, at least, for the time being.
Shrugging that thought away as well, Akio lately noticed that the footfalls behind him had fallen silent, for the most part. He turned his head slightly so that he could glance to the left side and slightly behind him, which would allow a better view of the girl he had slowly been traveling with. Strands of his combed out sapphire hair would slowly become visible as it left the shelter of his hood, but, thanks to the fog around them, it's color would remain incomprehensible to those around...Bugs and creatures of all sorts begun to move away from the pair as they moved.
Akio said, in the lowest tone he could fine, "It seems you've gained control over your footing." His voice soon fell into silence, as if he had been giving her the chance to speak; however, before she could do so, the split second that had passed between them, and he had spoken again. "There is something about you...something that keeps me from..." He trailed off, almost as if he had been looking for a positive way to say that he could have killed her in this instant. After all, there had been those who were blessed with many gifts when they had been younger, some dealing with those who are adapt at killing, striking, fighting, etc.
Not that he thought much on these actions, of course.
Without much thought on the situation, Akio said, in a low tone, "Tell me, where is it you're from, again? I can't seem to remember." Of course, he knew that she had never revealed such information to him, and he knew that she had not been a part of his village, not that he would act on her if she had been from another village. After all, she had met with the Kage twice and held a conversation with him both times, and he's not attempted to harm a single hair on her head. Perhaps he found future companionship with this one? One who would, more or less, leave to do his bidding in whatever land she had come from when she became of age. That was all. Akio was a male of business and friendship, though he did not trust many, and the few he did trust, he made sure to keep them close at all times. Starting to sound a little paranoid to himself, he shook his head and reminded himself that he could not be killed without leaving a mark on this world.

Miyuki continued to wander behind this man quietly, her pink eyes gazing about at the various life they passed, though it was hard to see through the dense fog. She liked this, she realized; it was silent, peaceful, calm. All things listed didn't reside with her home, and she detested it. What would it take to make things serene? The child shook her head as freshly made tears stung her eyes, warning her they were intending to fall. She took a breath, long and deep, before releasing it slowly to relax her tense nerves.
It was at this point that the man before her spoke, gaining her full attention. However, her interest faded a bit as a light blue butterfly fluttered its way onto her shoulder and perched there for a few moments. Miyuki hadn't intended on ignoring the man's comment, but she had nothing to say to it, as she had not realized her feet were so loud. Again his voice brought her attention to his looming form that continued to move forward. She thought only momentarily on the cut off thought before finishing it herself, "Killing me?", Miyuki asked in the most innocent of tones, a sigh having allowed such a question freedom.
The child's now dim eyes fell back to the beautiful bug now ready to take off after its momentary rest, leaving her to stop and stare after it as if mesmerized, yet she wasn't. This time, despite him speaking, the girl paid him no mind until moments later, his voice having somewhat faded the farther he had gotten from her. Nevertheless, she responded back to him with little less pep than normal, "I never told you, Sir. But it doesn't matter, I'm not going back." The firmness in such a decision, in spite of having not thought it all through, left it to seem final. After all, what did she have to return to? Nothing of interest to her anymore.
Miyuki's body had angled away from the man after the butterfly had taken flight off behind her, and so her body twisted back to where she had last heard him, jogging to return to his side.

Akio had made sure to keep track of the girl that had traveled behind him, though he had not been aware of the things she had gazed upon, even though it had been most of the things he'd spot as he moved; however, he never seemed to care enough to make note of the things around him. His full lips slowly pressed against one another and he drew in a deep breath of the fresh air into his nostrils, while his eyes shifted this way and that, forever searching for something that seemed out of the ordinary. Though Akio had seemed unprepared most of the time, he had always been glancing around, as if he had been waiting for something to happen; however, he never seemed to be bothered when something didn't happen, as they were always surrounded by this "mist" and he had not had contact with much of the outside world, save for the girl that had not been traveling behind him.
When the silence between the two had been broken and Akio realized he'd have to be answering a question by the time the girl had finished her two words, he said, "One can never be sure how things will turn out unless one allows things to happen." That was the comment he had made to her about him killing her. It was his way of saying "yes", but "no" without truly agreeing or disagreeing. In truth, he had not been entirely sure himself--which did not happen often--and did not wish to give her the incorrect formation of his own thoughts, which he had failed to answer upon speaking out the statement before him.
After a good ten minutes or so, he noticed that the girl had long since stopped herself from traveling behind him, though, because of his unhurried steps, he didn't seem to mind as catching up would not be that hard, should that be what she had truly wished. Beneath the cloak that had surrounded his frame, he slowly curled his slim fingers against the fabric of his clothing - chest expended out when he took in another deep breath and then released it a few moments after so that he could release all the stress that had been building deep within his bones. When she spoke this time, he paused and glanced over his shoulder, in her direction, and said, "Well, if you're not going back, that makes you a rogue, Miyuki, and that puts us both in danger, should someone come here looking for you."
By the time he had turned around, she had already been jogging back towards his side. At this time, he'd say, "If you're going to be here, in my land, you'll have to be honest and tell me what it is you're hiding from or two. I don't mind you coming here, but some others might. What is it I am getting into?" His voice was low and deep, though it had a taint of concern within it, but don't mistake the concern as if it were for the girl or himself, as it had only been for his people. Before sending out countless men in a large scale battle, should an attack be launched against him, he’d put himself in harm's way. If one knew they way his thought process worked, they'd soon come to realize that it had been thoughts like this: "The worst possible thing happening" is what had kept him alive. It was his drive and his reason.

The small girl fiddled with the hem of her kimono whilst she listened to her current traveling companion. It was funny, Miyuki felt more ashamed for having done wrong to him than she had ever experienced with her parents; her brother, yes, but never her mother or father. When he stopped to turn and look at her jogging form, she stopped and clasped her hands before her, arms straight, head slightly bowed and jaw clenched. Her hair tickled her cheeks when a soft wind passed by her and the looking figure before the small girl, ruffling her clothing as it went. Miyuki noticed this, even focused on it for a moment to gather her thoughts on what to say. At last, in an icy, yet hesitant, tone, she spoke, "Mother told me to leave, and father didn't stop her from grabbing my hair and throwing me out my home." Miyuki neglected to mention her mother was unstable in every form of the word, but her father was not, having every ability to stop the love of his life from taking their last child away from him. The thought caused a glare to be sent at the ground, directed at nothing. So, it wasn't that she was hiding, but that she was homeless- she had nowhere to provide her comfort other than this forest.
In truth, she had become self-loathing, thinking somewhere in the back of her mind that perhaps it was her own fault her father didn't want her around and her mother went ballistic at the slightest thing. Though it was not, and she thought it was, she still felt seething anger towards her family- namely her brother, who left her to deal with this alone not two weeks ago. Was it wrong to be angry at someone that had always been there for you until now? Even if so, it couldn't be helped since he was... The small child felt tears well up in her dim eyes, and closing them only warranted their release, sliding their way down her pale cheeks to her chin, then proceeding to drip in a constant succession towards the ground. She couldn't help it, everything was gone in literally four hours. Her hands unclasped, laying over her eyes and covered her face to hide those wretched tears. Although, it would he really obvious she was crying now that she had covered her face, but at least it hid her embarrassment. No noises came out now, however.

Akio had begun to wonder why it was that he had allowed this girl to be here, and why he had allowed her to leave at first. He shook his head and said, "Well, then you shall remain here, with me." He slowly flexed his fingers and glanced around the area; swirling eyes moved out, as if he had been searching for some trespasser to be somewhere around him, but, again, he had found nothing. He was fine knowing that they had been protected; at least he could be himself out here, free. After all, who would believe the child over him, should she find out something about him that he had wished no other to know. Grinning to himself, he said, "Can you fight?" His feet slowly pressed against the ground when his words had ended and he locked his gaze onto her face, as if he had been sizing up the girl's small frame. Of course, he had not been planning on taking on the child before him, unless, of course, she said she could fight. If she could, he'd wish to test her, as she was going to join his ranks, which would be something he'd ask her if she proved to have the potential to do so. He heard a low voice in his head, but he could not make it out. Obviously, it wasn't meant to be heard, but to make Akio remember the male inside of him.
